Kansas City Mass Choir

Background

The Kansas City Performing Music and Arts, Association (KCPMAA) mission is to facilitate each participant's development of intellectual abilities and skills in the area of instrumental and vocal music.  This multicultural organization presents quality workshops and seminars to enhance personal and/or group development.  KCPMAA came into existence in 1994, under the leadership of Elwanda C. Richardson, Board Chair, and Director of the Kansas City Mass Choir.

KCPMAA programs highlight the great music heritage of Kansas City and its diverse population by presenting music workshops, seminars, and educational conferences.  KCPMAA invests in the community by providing these programs to youth and adults.  KCPMAA is truly an organization that is dedicated to keeping the music heritage of Kansas City alive and well!

In 2005, KCPMAA formed the Kansas City Mass Choir.  The Kansas City Mass Choir membership is made from the annual Kansas City Music and Arts Conference workshop participants.  This 100+ voice choir presents some of the best original Gospel songs written by Kansas City writers. KC Mass Choir has performed for the Rev. Martin Luther King Celebration, American Heart Association One Voice Concerts featuring Pastor Marvin Sapp, and Yolanda Adams, among other local events.  KC Mass was one of the featured invited choirs to perform at the grand opening of the Kauffman Performing Arts Center.
