27th Annual KC Music Workshop

Gospel Music at Its Best!

The Kansas City Performing Music and Arts, Association (KCPMAA), in partnership with the Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ (CMBCJC), present the  27th Annual Kansas City Music Arts Workshop; Gospel Music at Its Best - February 17 - 21, 2020, at the Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, 6841 Sni-A-Bar Road, Kansas City, MO.   This Workshop Conference is the perfect place to set you and your church music department up for success! During this four (4) day music workshop, you will join other singers, musicians, teachers, and directors in attending the premier music education and networking conference of this City. You will learn strategies for building and maintaining a vibrate music department, interact with music leaders in the field, obtain vital resources to aid in personal growth, and learn originals compositions writer by Kansas City writers.


This is an opportunity you won’t want to miss, and one that is sure to provide you with the skills you need to reach your goals.  The following songwriter will be presenting at the workshop:  Renita Galbreath, Eric Rankin, Melissa Williams, Thomas Griffin II, Aniyah Harvey, Odell Talley, Anthony Harvey, Jr., and Elwanda C. Richardson.


The music workshop, which is open to the public, features one-hour classes taught Monday, Feb. 17 - Thursday, Feb. 20th (6:00pm - 7:00PM) in the following disciplines: 1) Choir Development and Structure; 2) Clinical Vocal Health, Rehabilitation, and Preservation;  3) Music Leadership and Development; 4) Songwriting and Format;  and 5) Youth Development.  Each class will be taught by experience individuals who are teachers, music industry professionals, musicians, and artisits in the field.  The classes are followed by 2.5 hours of choir rehearsal.  The workshop is divided into two mass choirs, youth and adults.  Both choirs will be feature   original compositions presented by Kansas City writers, who represent some of the best talent Kansas City has to offer in the Gospel Music Industry.  


Previous workshop composers have consisted of songwriters/artists such as: V. Michael McKay, Mark Hayes, Kevin Bond, Pamela Jean Davis, Errol Wayne Evans, Steven E. Roberts, VaShawn Mitchell, Darnell Davis, and Brent Jones to name a few.  


The workshop will climax with a concert on Friday, February 21, 2020 - 7:00 PM, at the Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ, 6841 Sni-A-Bar Road, Kansas City, MO.  Musical is free to the public.
